What brought you to the realization that you are a healer?

I was working in intensive care and I was taking care of someone from another culture. There is always a healing component to nursing but I never considered myself a healer. I always considered myself an artist. I was taking care of a patient and you had to break some of the rules. She was dying. It was essential for all of the family to be there with her as she passed and what I found in taking care of individuals who are critically ill, they are so drained of energy that they cannot pass over. So, this lady developed the hiccups. I used an essential oil and cured her hiccups and then I spent some time sitting and quietly holding her hand. When you’re doing healing touch, you are bringing in the universal energy. I was not doing anything intrusive but rather ensuring that she had the energy required to do what she had to do. It was a very dignified passing. Most people think of healing as improving the here and now, and here I was helping someone to pass over. This would have been a time a considered myself a healer.

What obstacles have you found in considering yourself a success in this field?

None - obstacles are not really obstacles. I just finished a book about living in the now - thinking of yourself as water that is simply flowing. You simply flow past any challenges that occur.

What schooling or training have you completed?

There are so many. I became an RN in 1972. Prior to that I started in the hospital when I was 16. I sat at the desk and held the little ones that were fussing. At a very young age, I sat with a young person who was dying - a teenager with cancer. I couldn’t even comprehend how difficult this would have been for this person, but it was a start. I come from a long line of nurses and doctors. Then I started at WLU and took a number of courses there, as well as a number of courses in Sault Ste. Marie, and then at St. Jerome’s College. I really resonated with the courses that focused on learning disabilities. I’ve trained as a reflexologist, aromatherapist, and am trained in Healing Touch. In the past, I’ve worked with crystals. I am also a raw chef. At the moment, I am studying face reading and I’m thinking of incorporating it into the mind-body-detox seminar.

Do you find group gathering to be helpful in supporting you on your journey?

I find it helpful when I’m in a gathering of energy workers. The other day, I was talking to someone about my upcoming mind-body-detox seminar and raised concerns about some issues that I didn’t have training to deal with. I explained that when you’re in this situation, everyone gathers together to help.

Does networking with others assist you in achieving your goals?

Yes. I keep asking the angels for help and they keep sending me interesting people.

Is there advice you would offer to someone starting on this path?

Listen to your own in-tuition!

What type of advertising has worked best for you? What has been your best resource for building a client base?

One of the reasons I decided to do seminars was to help those who have been frustrated by traditional advertising - to help advertise them and their products.

Where do you see yourself in a year? 5 years? Do you have any particular goals that you would like to achieve in the near future?

I would like to see bonnyfair exclusive seminars province-wide in the next year. Right now, this is my focus.
